A helping hand - for children
Children's needs are close to Carmen's hearts.
In 1983 they raised the funds to purchase a specially equipped LandRover for the Save the Children's Fund, adapted for gruelling use in Africa.
At their 1998 Ball, they subscribed to fourteen specially imported buggies to bring mobility to severely disabled children.
In 2002 the emphasis was on raising funds for Chase Children's Hospice and the Shooting Star Trust, London's only family facilities for life-limited and terminally ill children.
Existing educational support for needy children continues through Christ's Hospital, King Edward School Witley and the City of London Freemen's School.
