Worshipful Company of Carmen

scite, cito, certe — skilfully, swiftly, surely

Carmen filled the pews at St Michael Paternoster on Wednesday 27 March 2019, when they celebrated the second Foundation Day of their second 500 years, following their 500th anniversary in 2017, and rededicated themselves with their unique annual pledge to serve Crown, City, industry and those in need.

After lunch at Innholders’ Hall, the Master spoke  about the new Heritage Trust’s progress on the Grade 1 Old School at St Dunstan’s – the new  Carmen’s home made possible by a 125 renewable lease from the Church.

Over 77 members and guests turned up to the Service and lunch. At the service in the the church of St Michael Paternoster Royal the Carmen choir sang aided by the choir Master and organist, Honorary Freeman Derek Carden, and two trumpeters from Christ's Hospital School.

Below are some of the photographs from the day; including his wife Linda, pictured centre, who read the pledge of the Company, his step mother, Honorary Freeman Heather Britt, and his Apprentice, Caitland Lomas, who will shortly become a Freeman of the Company by Servitude.
